Files units are centimeters and all models are accurately scaled to represent real-life object's dimensions.

The model comes as a single editable mesh or poly object (or as group for rigged models or where displace modifier has been used) properly named and positioned in the center of coordinate system. No lights, cameras and render/scene setup are included unless otherwise stated in the particular model’s description.

Product description

Designer:  Achille Castiglioni Pier Giacomo Castiglioni Design Connected ID: 2945

The armchair was meant to be manufactured in separate elements that compose it, finished and assembled. It represents a very interesting study on the possibility to have a comfortable chair made out of a fairly rigid structure.
The three points of support, seat, back, headrest are separated, are stuffed with different degrees of thickness (as for the arm rests). They seem to have a formal and constructive autonomy, but they also suggest elasticity in the shape rather than in the real structure.
This armchair, that is the elegant synthesis of the ancient shapes, somehow reminds a familiar armchair, that we all have already seen. It also has a particular characteristic: once sat down, all elements of the body, rested on any part of the chair, find they can adapt very easily.
The Sanluca chair was developed using models in clay, chalk and wood.
Based on careful ergonomic studies, the three elements (seat, back, headrest) with a pressed metal frame, are stuffed with foam polyurethane and covered with leather. Manufactured and finished separately, the pieces are screwed together and the legs are lathe-turned and fitted into the structure of the arm rests.
