Product description

Brand:  Tolix Steel Design, France www.tolix.fr Designer:  Xavier Pauchard Design Connected ID: 3463

In 1907, Frenchman Xavier Pauchard succeeded in protecting sheet metal from rust by dipping it into molten zinc. Galvanisation was born, and with it a new industry.
In 1934 Xavier Pauchard created a range of metal chairs and tables that have since become design classics. The alchemist of zinc's Tolix factory in Burgundy produced many household items. Until the 1970s breweries supplied them to cafés and brasseries in return for them stocking their brands. This furniture is still made in Burgundy to the same designs today.

Year of design: 1934
