Urquiola's talent for outdoor designs must have something to do with her Spanish roots or perhaps the fact that she's based in sunny Italy. The Crinoline collection is comprised of seating with or without arms, in high- or low-backed versions. As with Canasta, Urquiola has revived traditional handweaving, adding a fun, feminine aesthetic, while maintaining a contemporary edge. The chairs are woven using black and white or black and bronze polyethylene cord, which can withstand all the elements, or in natural fibre or bronze cord, which can be used outside but should be kept under cover on, say, a terrace or balcony.
