Rex
Christina Strand's timeless easy chair won the Danish Furniture Industry design competition to design a chair for the Danish Crown Prince in 2002. The materials were chosen specifically with Crown Prince Frederik in mind: The elegant folded shell was made of Danish oak treated with lye and the shell was upholstered with Greenland sealskin. The sub-frame in matt chrome rests on oak an X - for Frederik the 10th."For me, the ultimative accolade is when a customer sits in a chair I have designed and thinks: " They had me in mind,"says Strand.
This is a chair able to combine elements of classic and the modern with a high degree of comfort, and the sub-frame features a rotating and return function. Rex is available in varnished beech and walnut and in fully-upholstered version. Christina Strand has also designed a table in three standard sizes and two heights to go with her chair.
