Arco ChairWith a finish that shines like glass, the Arco Armchair brings a new look to durable and affordable seating. Working with single injection nylon (or polycarbonate, in the case of the clear chair), Italian designers Mario and Claudio Bellini found a material that is ideally suited to forming this unique and dynamic shape. The Arco armchair is equally at home in a cafe as it is in a residential kitchen, and conveniently stacks up to 26 high.
Since the 1960's the versatile Mario Bellini has been celebrated for his distinctive designs in architecture, master planning, interiors, furnishings, and industrial design.
Bellini's designs are often created by molding clay into muscular forms. Bellini has said that designing a chair is "infinitely more complex than designing a skyscraper".
Mario Bellini is a five-time recipient of the prestigious Compasso d'Oro Prize, set up in 1954 by Gio Ponti to acknowledge quality in industrial design. To maintain the sheen of the high-gloss finish, long-term outdoor use is not recommended.
